“Adversity is a great catalyst for personal growth,” Jeff Butler
Jeff is a two-time Silver Paralympic Medalist (2020 Tokyo, 2016 Rio) and a founder of a telemedicine startup VIPatient. He is currently training for 2024 Paris Paralympics. Jeff recently finished his MBA at Stanford where he also worked in product and strategy at Google X. Jeff broke his neck in a car accident when he was 13, leaving him paralyzed. He had to learn everything from scratch. At 15, Butler set a goal to represent the US in the Paralympics. Jeff holds a patent to alert individuals when they are obstructing a vehicle’s wheelchair ramp.
Steven won Silver in World Championship in Track and Field. He represented the US in two paralympics (2008 Beijing, 2016 Rio); the 2005 European Championships in Espoo, Finland; 2006 World Championships in Assen, Netherlands; and 2013 World Championships in Lyon, France. He runs the Veteran and Adaptive programs at The Riekes Center.
Jeff and Steven will talk about positive mindset, training to compete at the highest levels, and participating in paralympics before teaching us how to play wheelchair rugby.
Organized by Off The Stage, which brings youth and leaders together for authentic conversations.
