Due to the huge interest and limited spots, we are happy to partner with UCSF to offer the surgical skills workshop again at their new venue! The hands-on workshop will be led by five UCSF surgeons—Dr. Julie Ann Sosa, Chair, Department of Surgery, Dr. Adnan Alseidi, Gastrointestinal Surgeon, Dr. Riley Brian, General Surgery Resident, Dr. Brandon Cowan, Resident Research Fellow, and Dr. Shareef Syed, Organ Transplant Surgeon.
The students will get the opportunity to learn from these surgeons and practice knot tying, laparoscopic surgery, and scrubbing in for surgeries.
We will have a fireside chat with the surgeons where they will share about their journey, their medical training, and their day-to-day as surgeons. They will then lead us through three hands-on stations where we will get to practice surgical skills.
